The Chhattisgarh Assembly on Thursday passed the Industrial Disputes (Chhattisgarh Amendment) Bill 2015 and Chhattisgarh Government Employees (Superannuation) Amendment Bill 2015.
With this, the industrial workers can lodge complaint with the labour Court even after three years of removal from the job. The Bill also entitles the employees to get three months wages at the time of removal from the job, said Chief Minister Raman Singh during discussion on the Bill in the House.
Earlier, there was provision that the worker can file complaint with the labour Court within three years after they were removed from their jobs. They were given compensation equal to their 15 days’ work wages only.
Congress members Siyaram Kaushik and Chunnilal Sahu and BJP members Shrichand Sundrani and labhchand Bafna also expressed their views in the discussion. The Bill was passed by voice vote.
During discussion on the Chhattisgarh Government Employees (Superannuation) Amendment Bill 2015, Singh said that 264 posts of veterinary doctors are lying vacant in the Veterinary Department. With the retirements more posts will become vacant in the department and there will be shortage of veterinary doctors in the State.
Therefore, this Amendment Bill has been introduced to increase the superannuation age of veterinary doctors from 62 to 65 years. Congress member Satyanarayan Sharma welcomed the move but said that this will lead to discontent among other doctors. He said that the superannuation age of doctors of Health Department has already been increased but the doctors serving with Municipal Corporation have been deprived of the benefit.
Sharma said that instead of making changes in parts, the Chief Minister should bring a common Bill for superannuation of all the doctors. He asked the Chief Minister for paying attention on new appointments along with increasing the superannuation age. The leader of Opposition TS Singhdeo suggested for relaxing the maximum eligibility age for appointments and for a common Bill for all the doctors. BJP member labhchand Bafna also expressed his view on the Bill which was passed by voice vote.
