Collector Ritu Sen has appealed to the rural women of the Surguja district to get educated and help in making the district free from malnutrition. Addressing a large number of women at Kunni village in the district, the Collector said it is necessary that every girl child also goes to school.
Sen asked the women in the region to take a pledge for getting educated along with taking a resolve for sending their children to school.later on, a rally comprising of school students and women of self-help groups (SHGs) was taken out.On the occasion, the villagers were offered free medical treatment and medicines for polio and hepatitis.
Present on the occasion were— Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Mohammad Shahid, Woman and Child Development Officer D S Maravi, District Education Officer R P Aditya besides other officials.
