A number of women residents of Eidgah Bhata and Mangal Bazaar area on Thursday thronged the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) zone-5 office to register their protest for allegedly depriving them of ration card facilities without verifying their eligibility criteria. The women alleged that their ration-cards were cancelled while an official concerned turned up at the door step to verify their eligibility for holding the cards.
They claimed of being deprived to get food grains on their ration-cards from last two months in the name of ongoing ration card verification and cancellation drive.
The protestors met the Zone Commissioner Vijay Pandey and warned him to launch a series of protest if the authorities fail to provide two months rations to the card holder families, soon.
The enraged women also alleged irregularities in the ration card verification and cancellation drive.
The protesting women were holding their ration-cards and were shouting slogans against the authorities concerned.
