Body of unidentified young woman was found under the Telghani Naka over-bridge on Sunday morning. It is being suspected that the victim was raped and then murdered. However police is waiting for postmortem report.
The body was found in a small shop constructed by Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) under the bridge. “locals spotted the body in shop number 60 on Sunday morning and after getting information police also reached on the spot,” said Station House Officer Gudhiyari while talking with The Pioneer over phone.
According to the police, the age of deceased could be between 20-25 years. She was wearing a cream colour kurti and green color salwar and deep green chunni. The head of the victim was crushed with some heavy stone. Injury marks were also spotted on the upper limbs, police maintained.
Police further said that no documents were found with the body due to which her identity could not be established. Though police conducted enquiry in the nearby areas but no one was able to identify her.
Meanwhile police has registered a case in this connection and has begun probe.
