A twenty-four-year-old woman, resident of Jorapara, was killed under the wheels of an SUV on Mahadev Ghat Road on Wednesday. Her relatives, however, claim she was hit by the vehicle intentionally.
The relatives of the deceased have registered a complaint with the Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar Police Station.People present on the accident spot had noted the number of the SUV and police is investigating the case.
According to the police the woman, identified as lata Karkase, had a scuffle with a few women of her locality on Tuesday night.Resident of the same locality Rajendra Dewar had threatened to kill her. He is absconding after the incident.
lata had left for Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar on Wednesday morning. When she reached Mahadev Ghat Road, a SUV hit her from behind.The driver of the vehicle fled from the spot after the accident. Passersby called for an ambulance and took lata to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Dilip Bhoi, relative of lata, said that a night before the incident, a scuffle between women in the locality had turned ugly when the women hit each other. Dewar had then threatened lata that he would kill her.
lata’s relatives claimed that it was Dewar who was driving the SUV on Mahadev Ghat Road on Wednesday. Dewar is a driver by profession, DD Nagar police said.
