Wildlife officials are much troubled with the continuously decreasing number of wildlife species in the Kanger Ghati. With the imbalance of the nature, the existence of animals and birds has been eroding. looking to this problem, higher officers of the forest department have demanded from the Government to establish a D Park.

In the D Park, such species of animals and birds will be kept, which are on the brink of extinction. Keeping 50 female and 20 male at the park they would be subjected to reproduction and then leave them to the forest. Then only this shocking problem could be solved.

The decreasing number of wild animals and birds in Kanger Ghati and Indrawati Park has become a matter of concern. According to an officer, by establishing the D Park, special attention could be given on this wildlife, for that demand was submitted to the government. A project has been prepared and sent to the government a month ago, he said.

He said that with all facilities, favorable atmosphere would be reacted for the wildlife in the park, so that they may reproduce good breed. The breeds will again be left in the forest. The decreasing population of State Bird ‘Maina’ in the forests could be increased, he added.

According to a survey conducted in 2005, about 120 to 150 Mainas are in the forests. However, the department has no actual figure of these birds, whether it had decreased on increased during the last nine years.

On the establishment of the D Park, tourists would also be attracted. The continuously decreasing number of tourist population could be increased and the state could earn handsomely. There are many benefits of the park. The estimated expenses of the project is said to be `1 crore. The officers consider that the project should be sanctioned soon.

According to IFS officer V Rama Rao, proposal has been sent to the Government. So many profits are in this project. If sanctioned, many extinct species could once again be seen in the forests, he added.
