Referring to the Congress manifesto in Karnataka, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said the Congress will deliver what it promises. He cited Chhattisgarh as an example to back his statement.
Baghel was addressing the media in Bengaluru, mentioning the five promises made in the manifesto.
Baghel said it mentions 200 units of electricity to be given free on each domestic connection under Griha Jyoti Yojana. In Chhattisgarh, half rate is given on 400 units of electricity on each domestic connection.
In this, a subsidy of Rs 3,200 crore has been given to 2 lakh families for electricity connection.
While referring to ‘Anna Bhagya’, Baghel said up to 10 kg of rice will be given free to every person living below the poverty line. In Chhattisgarh, his government gives 35 kg of rice to each family free every month. A subsidy of Rs 5,000 crore has been given thus far.
He said an allowance is given to the unemployed in Chhattisgarh.
“We have fulfilled the promise made by Rahul Gandhi in the elections. Whether it is loan waiver of farmers or purchase of paddy at Rs 2,500 per quintal. We implemented these within a few hours of forming the government.”
On the contrary, the BJP promised to bring black money from abroad and deposit Rs 15 lakh in each person's bank account but has not kept the promise. In Karnataka, six crores were seized from a MLA's house, but there is no action by the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department, he said.
“The Northeast is burning. Soldiers are dying but nothing is being said about it. There is no discussion on what the BJP will do in the interest of the people of Karnataka. They are just campaigning and seeking votes.”
