Weed out Congress from the State, exhort BJP leaders

BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik exhorted upon the party workers to weed out Congress from the State in the civic polls as done by the party in Parliamentary and Assembly elections.

Crediting the victory of BJP in the recent elections, Kaushik said that the victories were largely a result of their brilliantly orchestrated election campaign. The workers are capable enough to weed out Congress from the State and the party will capture all 70 wards and the post of Mayor to reflect Raipur’s image on international level, said Kaushik while addressing the workers convention organised here at Indoor Stadium on Monday.

Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal said that no matter who is the candidate, the workers should ensure party’s victory. He said that the people of Raipur, Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon have realised their mistake in previous civic polls and they will not repeat it this time. They have witnessed that development has been retarded in these cities and they are determined to elect BJP Mayor and corporators in this elections.

Urban Administration Minister Amar Agrawal said that the State Government has extended full support to the Municipal Corporation but the Mayor of Raipur has been indifferent towards development of the city. ‘It was due to the attitude of the present Mayor, the development of Raipur has been comparatively less as during the tenure of BJP Mayor.’

He said that the present Mayor has been trying to create obstacles in the development of city. Despite the declaration by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to include Raipur in 100 smart cities, the vision of ‘Smart City’ could not be realised if Congress Mayor remains in power. The workers should ensure victory of BJP candidate in each ward of the city, added Agrawal.

PWD Minister Rajesh Munat said that every worker should resolve that there should be BJP Mayor in Raipur. Congress Mayor has no achievements to her credit in five years as all major development works like beautification and maintenance of Telibandha pond, Indoor and Outdoor Stadium, beautification of gardens, construction of swimming pool and hockey stadium were done during the tenure of BJP Mayor.

Munat said that the State government had provided funds to the tune of crores to the Raipur Municipal Corporation but the Mayor has failed to make any difference in the city. He appealed to the workers to work with dedication for victory of BJP to facilitate development of Raipur and respective wards. leader of Opposition in Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Subhash Tiwari, RMC Chairman Sanjay Srivastava, BJP district president Ashok Pandey and others also gave motivational speech on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Suryakant Rathore while Omkar Bais proposed a vote of thanks.
