Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allocate Covid-19 vaccine to Chhattisgarh for free and on priority.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, Baghel has said that Chhattisgarh is a tribal dominated state and so free of cost Covid vaccine should be made available to it on priority in the first phase itself.
The Chief Minister has also thanked Modi for his continued support to Chhattisgarh.
Baghel informed the Prime Minister has written that the pandemic has created an unprecedented state of tension and fear among people throughout the country. "It is our highest duty to ensure peace and good health for each and every person of the country."
"As we all know, the Covid-19 vaccine is very important for prevention of Coronavirus related cases and deaths," he added.
The letter quoted the Union Health Ministry as indicating that a vaccine is likely to be available in the near future.
Chhattisgarh is fully prepared for the implementation of the Covid vaccination programme, he added.
