There are 12,099,938 voters in the seven Assembly segments of Bilaspur district, out of which the photos of 12,055,537 have been printed on the voters list.

The photos of voters printed on the voters list helps in identifying the voter at the polling booth. The Election Commission of India has set a target of 100 per cent for preparation and distribution of voters list, an official statement said here on Wednesday.

In Bilaspur district, the photos of 96.48 per cent of the voters have been printed on the voters list. The work for printing rest of the 3.52 per cent of the photos is underway.

In case a voter loses the identity card or the card gets damaged, he or she can deposit `25 with the concerned Tehsildar to be deposited in the Government account and would receive a copy of the chalan for receiving a duplicate identity card after an application is filed at the District Electoral Office. The District Electoral Office would issue the duplicate identity card.

Meanwhile, an all party meeting had been convened at the conference room of the District Collectorate to discuss issues over the brief review of electoral list 2013 (second round) on March 8 at 5 pm.
