Following the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the first publication of the voters list will be carried out at all the polling booths from October 15 this year, officials said.
As per the schedule, the booth-level and other officials deployed at the polling booths will receive claims and objections regarding enlisting/removing/changes in the voter list from October 15 till November 10. After disposing off all the claims and objections, the final publication of the voter list will be carried out on January 5, 2015.
An official press release, issued from the State Chief Electoral Office on Wednesday stated that those, completing 18 years of age on January 1, 2015 and could not enlist their name in the voter list due to various reasons, can apply for obtaining voter identity card in this revision process.
The applicants will have to apply with their passport size photograph and Form-6 at their respective polling booth. Names of the voters, who died or those who relocated somewhere after marriage or due to other reasons, will be omitted from the voter list.
Besides, the voters whose voter identity card has mistakes in their name, surname, age, gender, photo or any other details can apply for rectification. One can view the voter list at the state election electoral office’s official website ceochattiashgarh.nic.in.
The voters can also dial at 1950 (toll free number of the election office) to register their complaints or giving any related information. As per the Election Ccommission, the voter lists will be recited in the meeting of Gramsabha /Ward/Sabha/ Samiti scheduled onOctober 17 and 30, 2014.
Claims and objections regarding the voter list will also be received here. Thereafter, a special campaign will be launched by (booth level agents appointed by) the political parties to receive the claims and objections on October 19 and November 2, this year.
last date of disposing off all the claims and objections is decided as November 20, 2014. Following this, a supplementary voter list will be prepared and published after updating the database including photo merging and control table.
