The Awareness Officer Nangsang lamba Aao appointed by the Election Commission of India in the Maoist-hit Kanker district to generate Voter awareness stated in a meeting of Nodal officers here on Sunday that the voters must be encouraged to cast their vote fearlessly during Assembly polls in the State. Aao said that every single vote is important and it is a significant right given to the voters by the constitution across the country.
Collector and District Electoral Officer Alarmelmangai D. and Nodal Officer Bhim Singh appointed for the ‘Voter Awareness Drive’ informed about the activities undertaken as part of the programme in the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that a rally was taken out in all the Tehsil headquarters on October 2 and a ‘Torch rally’ in the Kanker District headquarters as part of the Voter Awareness Programme. Many competitions were held in the schools and colleges of the district.
