Collector Bhim Singh has said that Vocational Training Programme (VTP) not only aims at providing training to the youths but also ensuring proper job placement of the trainees. He was addressing the officials in a review meeting of Chief Minister Skill Development Programme here. Singh also reviewed the progress of the training programme and trainees placed till now.
It was informed in the meeting that over 5000 youths have been given training in the sewing, basic computer education, plumber and several other fields. A total of 336 trainees are working in different sectors while 1446 trainees have established their own businesses. Singh said that there is a huge demand of bamboo craft in the district and hence youths should be given more and more training in this particular sector. DFO Vivek Acharya, District Panchayat CEO P S Elma and other officials were present in the meeting.
