Observing the acute shortage of water across the State, Deobhog villagers pledged to overcome the problem under the aegis of State Finance Commission Chairman Chandrasekhar Sahu.
The pledge was taken by keeping a water pot at the stage during a programme of ‘Jal Chaupal’.
Sahu urged the residents to hold ‘Jal Chaupals’ in order to spread awareness on water conservation.
He related the purpose of such awareness with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Gram Uday Programme focussing on water conservation.
Sahu asked the villagers to make community level efforts for the issue.
Apart from water, he encouraged the villagers to discuss on the developmental activities for their village.
On the demand of Village Panchayat Supebeda Sarpanch Sunita Nayak, Sahu assured the tank construction by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).
