Villagers build bridge using sand & stones

As many as 150 villagers have created road connectivity at Indravati locality in Pahurnar with the construction of a sand and stones made bridge. A tractor carrying grocery reached here on Monday.

Officials claimed the connectivity is spreading joy among the locals. Highlighting the relevance, Sarpanch Posey Kashyap said, “We made a similar bridge last year also since the existing wood made bridge was often damaged due to floods. The suggestion is the brainchild of Sub-Divisional Magistrate.

“He even sent sand bags for constructing the bridge and arranged the groceries five months before the arrival of rainy season,” Kashyap said.

The sand bags were kept in around one kilometre at Indravati  along with stones in areas where the deposition of water is low in order to set up a temporary bridge. The finishing touch is in process.

Meanwhile, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate applauded the team-spirit of the villagers and urged the villagers to consult the administration in future as well for prompt action or suggestion over prevailing hurdles. He even visited the village and interacted with the children of Ashram and inquired about the quality of Mid-Day meal.
