Chhattisgarh State Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agarwal met the villagers of Kasdol assembly constituency who have been affected by wild elephants menace.
The Panchayat representatives and villagers requested the Speaker for providing the compensation for the crops damaged by the elephants. Also, they asked him to ensure the wild elephants should be chased away from the area by forest department officials.
Agrawal immediately called up the Forest Officer of the area and directed him to check the condition of the damaged crops and accordingly provide the compensation.
He suggested the villagers to consult the Mahasamund District Forest Officer regarding the death compensation of a Sirpur based villager.
On the request of the delegation, he instructed the District Education Officer and told him to ensure proper educational facilities in Arjuni (B) village. He sanctioned an amount of Rs 1lakh for setting up a stage in Arjuni (B).
