Some unidentified thieves broke into a house located in DD Nagar area in broad daylight and made away with cash Rs 1.30 lakh and gold worth Rs 3 lakh, informed Station House Officer DD Nagar on Saturday.
According to the SHO the theft occurred in house of Nirmala Sharma in Shanti Vihar area of Dangania locality. “The incident happened between 2-3 pm. The residents of house had gone to participate in ‘Dasgatra’ of a relative in Samta Colony. The thieves sneaked into the house through the back door of house and made away with the valuables,” the SHO informed.
Around 4 pm when the family members of Nirmala Sharam reached home they were shocked to find the almirah in one of the room wide open. Cash Rs 3 lakh and about 13 tola of gold missing from the house who then informed police, SHO said. Police said it seems to be handiwork of someone who knew beforehand that when the residents of house are going to be out of house. A case in this connection has been registered with DD Nagar police station and police have begun investigation into the case.
