The Covid-19 vaccination drive among teenagers in the age group 15-18 years began on Monday in Chhattisgarh.
It has been decided to organize special immunization sessions in all high and higher secondary schools to ensure that the first dose is completed in January.
With the start vaccination, Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary Dr Alok Shukla asked the Chief Medical and Health Officers and District Education Officers to prepare a month-long calendar for vaccination, an official communication said.
A special meeting of parents of both private and government schools will be called.
The Health Department will monitor children after vaccination for any adverse effect. If there is any, the child will be taken to the nearest hospital immediately and treated.
