Inaugurating a ‘School Admission Festival’ on Thursday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said prefabricated structures can be used to build school buildings in the Naxalite affected areas to cut construction time.
Baghel through a virtual event at the press of a button restarted 260 schools in four Naxalite-affected districts: Sukma Dantewada, Bijapur and Narayanpur.
A total of 11,013 students have been admitted to these schools. The maximum 159 schools are in Bijapur district, 97 in Sukma, four in Narayanpur and one is in Dantewada district, an official communication said.
Baghel further said the Covid-19 pandemic had created havoc in education. But the state government ensured the continuity in different platforms including online classes. With the new academic session, there is a lot of hope. The losses need to be compensated.
He said from the current session it has been decided to open kindergarten in select schools. It is the responsibility of teachers to provide additional care and guidance to children in this category.
Already, 171 Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools and 32 Hindi medium schools have become operational, he said.
School bags, books and uniforms were distributed to the children. Baghel interacted with the parents and children.
