Police on Friday arrested a relative of the woman whose charred body along with that of her two sons was found at Bana village in the outskirts of Raipur city under Urla police station on Thursday.
“The accused had killed Dularin Bai on some petty issue after getting drunk and in order to make murder appear a mishap, he had burned the bodies,” a press release issued by Raipur police claimed.
The accused was identified as Chandrakant Nishad hailing from Patan region. Nishad regularly visited Dularin Bai’s house and on the day of incident he was in the house. His scooty was also found at the spot, police said.
Based on other evidences gathered, he was grilled wherein Nishad confessed of killing the three by thrashing them with a log, police added.
According to Nishad, police said, on Thursday he consumed liquor with Dularin Bai and had verbal spat over the victim meeting some other man. Out of rage he killed Dularin Bai and her two sons.
Nishad has been booked under Section 302 (murder) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
