A delegation of Urla Industries Association on Sunday met state home minister Tamradhwaj Sahu and informed him about the deteriorating law-and- order situation in Urla industrial region.

General secretary of the association Vikram Jain informed that Urla and Siltara jointly forms the biggest industrial region of the state and they provide jobs to about 2 lakh people that include large numbers of people coming from outside Raipur.

The delegation informed the Home Minister that in past six months incidents like theft and murder have increased in Urla region.

They alleged that big scrap dealers have colluded with criminals and at time they are making scrap disappear along with the truck. Those who complained are threatened with dire consequences.

Expressing dissatisfaction over police response, the delegation stated that not only police station level officers, but SP and IG also do not respond to the complaints.

The minister heard the views of delegation and assured them of taking some concrete action.
