Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday flagged off 60 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) for all municipalities and Nagar Panchayats under the expanded Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme.
The scheme was launched on November 1, 2020, to provide health services to people in urban areas at their doorstep.
In the first phase, doctors have been providing their services through 60 MMU ambulances in all 14 municipal corporations.
At the medical camps, beneficiaries are provided free consultation, treatment, medicines and lab test facilities through the MMUs. Under the scheme, Dai Didi clinics have been started to provide better health services to women near their homes.
As the first phase of the scheme turned out to be a grand success, state government has decided to expand the scheme in all the municipalities and Nagar Panchayats.
