UPA drives country toward economic emergency: BJP

Published on:

Expressing serious concern over the present economic situation of the country, State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Ramsevak Paikara, said that India was moving through an economic transition period. The value of Indian Rupee has been decreasing continuously in the international market, he added.

He said that the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre has totally failed in controlling inflation and the economy of the country was going from bad to worse. The economist Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been proved totally unsuccessful in arresting the economic transition, he added.

Paikara said that if the situation continues, it would lead the country toward serious economic peril. The country is moving toward economic emergency, he added.

He said that the UPA Government, to hide its inability, has been talking about the threat from petroleum lobby. In fact, the government did not bring any scheme to make any specific economic policy, and now trying to impose the outcome of its faults on others. If the oil companies were pressurising the Government, it should be brought before the people, he added.

Paikara alleged that always the UPA at the Centre used to play mind game before increasing the prices of petroleum productions and the pressure from the oil lobby is also the part of the Government’s mind game.

He said that the Central Government was trying to save itself by saying that the petroleum lobby was threatening Ministers. He questioned that whether the Government machinery will not heed to the instructions of the Government or the Government was giving benefits to these companies. The Government has to bring before the country that from what time the Government was facing such a situation and had been bowing before the petroleum lobbies, he said.

Paikara said that the economic policy of the Central Government has totally destroyed the economic policy of the country. It could not be ruled out that the oil companies have been benefited from it in a big way. It has been seen that the oil companies have made irregularities in fixing the oil price and the common man had to bear the brunt of it. The Bharatiya Janata Party would protest tooth and nail such economic policy of the Central government, he added.
