Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh on Sunday while terming the death of a tribal youth in police custody as Rsmurder’ assured the family members of the deceased that she would try her level best to ensure a CBI probe into the matter.
She also sought justice for the youth who belonged to the tribal-dominated Surguja parliamentary seat which she represents in Lok Sabha.
After visiting the family members of the deceased youth, the minister while talking to media persons remarked, that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inducted me into his ministry as tribal affairs minister and it’s my bounden duty to ensure justice for the tribal youth who was allegedly murdered’’.
The victim, Pankaj Bek, was reportedly committed suicide after the cyber cell team of state police took him under custody for interrogation recently. Police atrocities were blamed to be the reason for his death. Minister of state alleged that state police were trying to cover up the case and had been largely projecting it a case of suicide.
