The district administration at a programme held at lalati village recently declared lalati and Dhangava villages in Pendra block of Bilaspur district as 'free from open defecation'.
Vice president of District Panchayat Bilaspur Sameera Paikra was the chief guest of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Collector Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi appealed to the villagers to keep the village clean. As many as 190 toilets have been constructed for 190 families at lalati village while 400 toilets have been constructed at Dhangava.
Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Bilaspur Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, President of Nagar Panchayat Pendra Aruna Jaiswal, Sub Divisional Magistrate OP Verma, officers, peoples’ representatives and students were present.
Dhangava Sarpanch Kanval Singh Uike, Sona Shyam, MlA representative Gyanendra Upadhyay, former Janpad Panchayat Vice President Rathore, students Chandrakali and Devvati also addressed the programme.
