A joint team of district police and Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (CAF) Jawans arrested two members of Raynar Dalam marking the first success of the ‘Operation Monsoon’ launched by Narayanpur district police against Maoists.
According to a release of Narayanpur district police superintendent office, a team comprising jawans of District police and CAF was sent for patrolling from Orchha Thana to Raynar areas on a tip off that Maoist insurgents were hiding in jungle.
After reaching Raynar the team encircled the area and started search operation. However, sensing the presence of security forces, the person guarding the Maoist camp alerted rebels who started fleeing the spot one by one. In the meantime, two rebels fleeing from the Maoists hideout were caught by security personnel.
During interrogation the two revealed that they were working for Raynar Dalam for the last many years. They accepted their involvement in attack on Kukdajhor base camp and Orchha Thana, firing at Dhanora Thana besides other incidents of violence.
They were identified as Ayatu (30) and Game (25). The team also recovered detonator, cartridges of 12 bore gun, torch and other items of daily use. On Saturday the apprehended militiamen were produced in a local court which sent them on judicial remand to jail.
