Two Maoists surrendered in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Friday.

Uika Malla and Sodi Hunga turned themselves in to security forces on Thursday, citing disappointment with the Maoist ideology, Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavhan said.

Malla was the Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangh (DAKMS) member and Hunga was a militia member of the outlawed Maoist organization, he said.

They were involved in several incidents of violence in Jagargunda and Kistaram areas in the district for a long time, he added.
