Two Naxalites, one carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakhs on his head, surrendered on Saturday to security forces in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
Lekam Gujja and Madkam Hidiya turned themselves in after being impressed with the government’s rehabilitation policy, Sukma Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma said.
Gujja was the Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangathan (DAKMS) President and carried a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Hidiya was a Militia Deputy Commander, Sharma said.
They were reportedly involved in several Maoist incidents in Chintagufa and Chintalnar areas in the district.
