Two persons died on the spot after a bike and a car collided head-on near Tekarpara village one Durg-Balod road about 8 kms from Balod police station, police said on Sunday.
According to the Station House Officer Balod the deceased were identified as Anemanram Halba (50) son of Mehtar Ram Halba and Fulchand Yadav (45) son of Bahar Ram Yadav both residents of Kamroud village under Arjunda police station of the district. “The deceased were coming towards Balod on a bike (CG-07 AF-8240) around 10 pm on Saturday night. A car bearing registration number CG-10 FA-6644 was heading towards Durg. It seems that both the vehicles were on good speed when they collided head on with each other near Tekarpara village,” the SHO said. Police further said that the intensity of collision was so severe that after collision bike was thrown away to several feet and the bikers died on the spot.
After the accident the driver of car managed to flee away from the spot. Meanwhile Balod police has registered a case in this connection and is looking for the errant driver.
