Two children died after a lightning struck at Darrebhata village under Sipat police station on Sunday evening, police said. The ill-fated children were playing cricket when the incident happened.
The Station House Officer Sipat informed that the incident happened between 4 to 4.30 pm. The deceased were school students and were playing cricket match in a local ground. Suddenly lightening struck them during the game. Soon after the incident they were rushed to Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) where doctors declared them brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Karan Chandrakar (15), son of Raja Chandrakar and Bhanu Shah (16), son of Gaukaran Shah, both residents of Sipat area.
