The Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Thursday claimed of lifting the veil behind murder of a woman whose body was found in her home at Bhansoj village of Arang few days back. Two persons including the sister-in-law and father-in-law of the deceased have been arrested in this connection. Some extra-marital affair was being said as reason of death, informed DSP Crime BS Rathore.

According to police the accused were identified as Mamta Manhare (25) and her father Santram Banjare. “The deceased Mamta Banjare was married to Vedram Banjare in 2013. However after marriage the deceased spent most of the time in her parental home. After much talk between both the families about one and half months back, Mamata Banjare reached Bhansoj in the house of her husband,” the DSP said.

Body of Mamta Banjare was found in her home on May 25 and it after investigation it was known that the sister-in-law of deceased, Mamta Manhare was in home when murderer had committed the crime, DSP informed reporters.

“Mamta Manhare had seen the victim meeting with some youth few days back while the husband of deceased who is a mason had gone to work. The accused had warned the victim that she would expose her affair, after which deceased and accused developed strained relations,” the DSP said.

The accused told police that the dispute grew so intense that one day Mamta Banjare approached Mamta Manhare with an axe for quarrelling, but Banjare did not attack her. On May 25 while everyone was out of home Mamta Manhare chopped Mamta Banjare with axe and when her father Santram Banjare reached home he threw the axe in a pond nearby for hiding the murder weapon, DSP maintained.

In the course of interrogation it was seen that there was no sign of struggle at the crime scene which led the investigators to believe that someone knowing the deceased would have executed murder, that ultimately led to the exposure of killer, DSP claimed.
