Two persons, including a minor, have been arrested for attacking a journalist in Raipur, police said on Monday.
On Sunday around 11 pm, when the journalist was passing by the BJP city office Ekatm Parisar after completing work, two persons on a motorcycle reached there and began talking to him, Raipur Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav said.
Suddenly the accused, Bablu Khan, took out a knife and attacked the journalist on the thigh. The attackers then escaped.
The journalist was shifted to a hospital where he was said to be out of danger.
On Monday morning, Chhattisgarh Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu called Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav and told him to quickly arrest the guilty.
According to Yadav, there was no personal or old dispute behind the incident. Investigation suggest that Bablu Khan was inebriated when he attacked.
Police have arrested Bablu Khan and a minor in this connection, the officer said, adding they have been sent to jail.
