Two constables of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) were injured on Tuesday when Naxalites triggered serial blasts of improvised explosive devices (IED) in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, police said.

The incident took place around 9.15 am when DRG and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel were on an area domination operation, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar said.

When the patrolling team was cordoning off a forest patch, Maoists detonated the blasts in which two DRG constables received injuries, he said.

The injured, Sanau Vadde and Ramji Potai, were shifted to a hospital and their condition was stated to be out of danger. As a precaution, they were flown to Raipur for further medical treatment, the official said.
