Raipur District Collector Dr S. Bharati Dasan on Tuesday asked the police to register a FIR against two Covid-19 positive individuals for breaching quarantine and violating the Epidemic Diseases Act.
Ashish Sharma of Sundar Nagar and Onkar Dewangan of Changorabhata were detected Covid positive on August 21, an official press release said.
The district administration then asked them to get admitted in a hospital. However, they provided wrong information to the police about their location, the press release said.
The district administration had pasted stickers and ribbons outside their houses. However, instead of assisting the administration, both the patients acted in a way that can cause coronavirus to spread, the press release added.
“The number of coronavirus positive patients is constantly increasing in the district and the administration is trying hard to control it,” Bharati Dasan was quoted as saying in the press release while directing action against the two men.
They have been booked under sections 188, 269 and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as the Epidemic Act.
