In separate incidents a girl and a young woman allegedly committed suicide. One out of them immolated herself in budhwari bazar area, Beergaon while the other was found hanging from the ceiling of her home in Raja Talab area, police said on Monday.
According to police the deceases have been identified as Kumari Chanchala Sahu (14) daughter of Jwala Prasad Sahu resident of Budhwari Bazaar Beergaon and Shahina Ansari (22) daughter of Ikram Ansari resident of Raja Talab.
Detailing further police said Kumari Chanchala Sahu was student of class 9th and had immolated herself on April 8, she was admitted in a private hospital in the city since then. “The mother of deceased girl had scolded Chanchala for continuously talking over phone. On 8th April the father and brother of deceased had gone on work and Chanchala and her mother were alone in house,” said police.
Chanchala’s mother was working in kitchen when she sensed smoke and some strange sounds coming from one of the room in house she then rushed and found her daughter burning. later she was rushed to a private hospital. Chanchala sustained about 65 per cent burnt injuries, police said. A case in this connection has been registered with Urla police station.
In another case Shahina Ansari was found hanging in her home on late Sunday evening. According to police Shahina was a student of B.Com 1st year. Shahina’s father is a government employee and they have two home side by side. One out of them is vacant. Shahina on Sunday pm went to some place on her scooty and later returned by 4 pm. She parked her scooty in the other home and went inside it.
later when Ikram Ansari reached he enquired about Shahina and reached the side home where he was shocked to find her daughter hanging from the ceiling of home. No suicide note was found with the body, police said. A case in this connection has been registered with Civil lines police station.
