Two bags of a passenger in the Bhopal-Durg-Amarkantak express train have been stolen from the AC bogie. The bags were filled with clothes, some necessary records and magazines. The incident has been reported in the GRP station Raipur, but the station officials did not divulge the information.
According to sources, Piyush Jain, resident of Raipur, was travelling in the AC bogie of Bhopal-Durg-Amarkantak express train. His two bags were stolen in between Anuppur and Bilaspur. On Tuesday morning, when he reached Raipur station, he made a complaint of the incident with the GRP police station.
At first, the GRP officials have tried to evade the case by saying that the place of incident falls under another police station area. The passenger had to make much effort to get the report registered. At last, on the complaint of Piyush Jain, theft report ‘zero’ has been registered in the GRP Raipur. When GRP sub inspector Daya Kurre was asked about the theft incident, he declined to give information.
According to sources, theft incidents were on the rise in trains in between Bilaspur-Durg area. GRPF and RPF personnel are deployed in a few trains only and because of that gangs of thieves are active in the trains. Passengers are feeling insecure due to incidents of thefts.
