Chhattisgarh Police on Saturday arrested a man who murdered his wife but claimed she committed suicide in a village in Mahasamund district, police said. One more person was taken into custody for concealing evidence in the case. Mahasamund Superintendent of Police Divyang Patel identified the two as Radheshyam Nayak (22) and his accomplice Rajesh Nayak (33). On July 13, Radheshyam killed his wife Sushila (25). Later, both the men fabricated a suicide story. Police learnt that there were frequent fights between Radheshyam and Sushila. Radheshyam eventually confessed his involvement in the murder. Radheshyam told the police that he had rows with Sushila over an extramarital affair, her failure to get pregnant, a miscarriage as well as other issues. On July 13, after a heated argument, Radheshyam strangled Sushila with her saree. Later, he hanged her on the roof top in the house and fled from the spot.
Rajesh Nayak found Suhsila hanging and took her to a hospital where she was declared dead.
