Truth not presented in Guv's address: Congress

The Opposition Congress on Tuesday came down heavily on the Governor’s address to the State Assembly as the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) chief Bhupesh Baghel besides senior party leaders Satyanarayan Sharma and Dhanendra Sahu said that truth was not presented in the address.

Bagel told newspersons at the Assembly Complex that false information were presented in Governor’s address. “Whether it may be paddy procurement, zero tolerance on corruption or law and order situation, the information were presented totally wrong. We would submit motion of amendment in the Governor’s address and those issues would be raised in the House in coming days,” Baghel said.

The CGPCC chief alleged that paddy procurement was not taking place in the State. “Raman Singh had promised for purchasing paddy at the rate of Rs 2,100 per quintal and bonus of Rs 300 on every quintal in BJP’s poll manifesto but these promises have not found space in Governor’s address,’’ Baghel said and informed that his party would hold protests from January 11 at each paddy procurement centre across state over a betrayal to farmers by the BJP government.

To a quarry about the toll free numbers issued by state government for registering complaints related to corruption Baghel said, Chief Minister just by writing letter to the Ministers over zero tolerance on corruption can’t think of completing his job. If Raman Singh really wants to tackle corruption in state then the Chief Minister should pick up corruption cases of past in which recommendations were made by committees of House or were raised in the House, Baghel said.

“The facts that are proved in cases like Indira Priyadrshini Bank or Pushp Steel or Balco should be investigated first then only Raman Singh would have moral responsibility to right letter to his ministers on zero corruption,” Baghel charged.   Former minister Satyanarayan Sharma alleged that state government do not have funds to complete the schemes. “The government has already declared so many schemes that now it is impossible to understand that how are they going to complete those demands” Sharma said. Talking over the ration cards issued Sharma alleged “large numbers of fake ration cards were prepared for taking benefits in the election.”

He questioned that why was action not taken against people involved in making fake ration cards. “Anarchy is prevailing in the state and in the BJP regime law and order has totally collapsed. Police besides policing is doing all kinds of work,” he charged.  Congress legislator from Abhanpur seat Dhanendra Sahu talking with reporters said the governor’s address shows that there is no clear indication for the development model that state government would follow in coming days. Government did not showed any stand in the substandard fertilizers and seeds flooding market, which is unfortunate, he expressed.
