A truck carrying rice allotted under the public distribution system (PDS) was swept away in a flash flood in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Sunday.
The vehicle broke down on the Badanala rivulet near Mettupalli. Before it could be repaired, the water level rose alarmingly.
The water swept away the truck carrying rice allotted for distribution in the interior areas of the district. The driver and the cleaner had deserted it as the water level went up.
