Trouble-makers during Holi to be dealt strictly

Hooligans causing inconvenience to people during the festival of Holi must not be spared this time, City Superintendent of Police Anshuman Sisodia instructed the police officers in a peace committee meeting of the police department on Sunday.

More than 70 people, including police officers and public representatives, were present in the meeting. Sisodia appealed the people in the meeting to celebrate the festival of colours with peace and happiness and to ensure safety. The meeting was held in police control room. It was also instructed that people should not wear mask, do triple riding on a two-wheeler or sport fake moustache and beard as it could be used by anti-social elements to abscond from police.

It was discussed in the meeting that Holi celebrations in Sadar Bazaar begin one day in advance. The CSP urged the public to refrain from the area if they do not want to become a part of the festival. Residents of the Sadar Bazaar have also been instructed not to force people to celebrate Holi if they do not wish to. Sisodia said that to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the festival, policemen will be strategically deployed at several spots in the city. Plainclothes policemen will also be spread in the city to monitor suspicious people.
