On the instructions of Gariaband Collector Niranjan Das, a team of officers, including Assistant District Panchayat CEO S Chouhan and Assistant Commissioner SK Vaahne reached Mainpur Janpad Panchayat to investigate a case related to irregularity in preparing meals during lok Suraaj Abhiyaan. Tribal leaders of the area had demanded removal of Janpad Panchayat CEO GK Mishra for harassing Secretary Prem Singh Markam in this case.
The team recorded the statements of Sarpanch Sangh President Himandi Manjhi, Sachiv Sangh President Prem Dhruv and others. But, at the same time, the team found the statement of Prem Singh Markam missing. The investigating team has given time limit to record the statement of Markam, as the report would have to be submitted to the Collector.
Assistant District Panchayat CEO Chouhan has told the reporter that all the persons whose statements have been recorded extended their support to Prem Singh Markam and termed the incident as true.
A week ago, a large number of Tribal leaders have staged demonstration demanding FIR against GK Mishra and his immediate removal.
They have also asked the Chief Minister Raman Singh, ministers Ajay Chandrakar and Kedar Kashyap, MlA Gowardhan Manjhi and Collector Niranjan Das to take stringent action in this case.
