Chhattisgarh Trader Basudev Mittal was on Thursday sent to judicial remand for tax evasion of over Rs 5 crores.
The officers searched his Sainath Enterprises in Raipur and seized incriminating documents, an official statement said.
Preliminary investigation showed that he had availed Input Tax Credit of Rs 5.69 crores on the basis of bogus invoices.
He was arrested under the CGST Act 2017 on Wednesday and produced on Thursday before a court which sent him to 14 days judicial custody.
