The tracker recently installed at the Sonography centres of Raigarh district is helping in the effective implementation of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PCPNDT).
Focussing on the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme, Collector Alarmelmangai D instructed the gynecologist, radiologist and Sonography room managers to follow the PCPNDT Act.
The managers were advised to go ahead with the Sonography of pregnant women only if it is prescribed by a registered doctor. Also, the Collector asked to ensure the name, address proof, mobile number and the identity proof of the pregnant woman.
She said the concerned authorities should be immediately informed about the cases wherein any woman undergoing Sonography without ID or address proof is found. The managers were told to put up a board mentioning the instructions outside their respective centres.
