A woman, belonging to Sambalpur in Rajnandgaon district, taking her infant child in lap is running from pillar to post for justice. The hapless lady reached Raipur Press Club Monday afternoon to narrate her woes to media persons.
According to the victim, she is harassed by calling ‘tonhi’ (witch) and is threatened of life as well. And the tormentor is none other than her own uncle. She alleged that though on her complaint the Khairagarh police have registered a case against the accused under Tonhi Atrocities Prevention Act, no arrest has been made in this connection as yet.
The victim, Raj Kumari Banjare, who reached Press Club along with her spouse and an infant child in her lap, was terrified due to the increased danger to her life as the case has reached police station while nothing is done towards arrest of the accused.
Meanwhile, Rajnandgaon Additional Superintendent of Police Shashimohan Singh informed that as the Khairagarh TI has been transferred, Chhuikhadan TI Dilip Sisodiya is investigating the case presently. He, however, assured that there was no need of worry as full protection would be provided to the victim.
