A day after former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi was booted out of Congress Working Committee after his decision to form a new political party, the key Congress leaders of State Congress Committee held a meeting in close quarters at party’s State headquarters here on Wednesday.
“The meeting has been called to chalk out the strategy for making Congress stronger in Chhattisgarh under the guidance of our high command,” Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Bhupesh Baghel told reporters.
Referring to Jogi, former Union Minister Charan Das Mahant said “the people who are now with CGPCC will fight together and form the next Government in the State and then he (Ajit Jogi) would realise who the relevant leaders are.”
Former MlA Shiv Dharaia who was once believed close to Ajit Jogi, also participated in the meeting.
The former leader of Congress legislature Party (ClP) Ravindra Choubey who had also reached Congress Bhawan, mentioned that Jogi’s decision to desert party, will have a positive impact on the mindset of Congress workers.
