Senior most BJP tribal leader in Chhattisgarh and former home minister Nankiram Kanwar called on Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday and submitted a set of dossier against suspended senior IPS officer Mukesh Gupta.

Kanwar claimed that he had been facing threats to his life and sought security cover in backdrop of his intense campaigning against Gupta.

As per reports, Kanwar levelled serious corruption charges against Gupta in a meeting with Baghel and advised him to take stern action against him. He also sought security cover for him saying that he had been facing threat to his life from a few police official who were loyal to Gupta.

Sources said that Kanwar submitted papers to Baghel as proof regarding properties which Gupta had allegedly purchased in name of his steno Rekha Nair. The fresh complaints by Kanwar could add further misery to Gupta who is already going through troubled time phase. Notably, Kanwar earlier too had met the Chief Minister twice and had raised corruption charges against Gupta. The Chief Minister on the basis of allegations levelled by Kanwar has already set up a probe committee against Gupta.
