Following the directives of District Collector OP Chaudhary, a team of Revenue, Municipal Corporation and Food and Drugs Administration Department on Wednesday seized several tonnes of raw fruits which were ripened by using chemicals here. The team seized 23 quintals of banana from Ashish Fruit Shop which was using Taygpon chemical in lalpur based wholesale fruit market, officials informed.
Similarly, the team seized 25 quintals of papaya from RKG Fruits and 80 quintal mangoes along with 30 quintals of papaya from Chaubey Maharaj Fruits in Jawahar Nagar fruit market who was using calcium carbide. The team comprised of Deputy Collector BR Dewangan, Deputy Collector Harvbansh Mirey and others.
