Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international working president Praveen Togadia on Sunday expressed grief over the cows deaths en masse at a Gaushala in the State and appealed the society to come forward and team up with the Government for cows protection.

The VHP fire brand leader was speaking to media persons during his visit to state capital to participate in a function of VHP National Treasurer Ramesh Modi’s 75th birthday at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium.

Chhattisgarh hit headlines early this month when dozens of cows were starved to death at a Gaushala for commercial purposes. The cows’ death shocked entire state and the government was forced to arrest the Gaushala owner who was the BJP leader in Durg district.

Togadia held meetings with local VHP leaders and also attended a Sports fest organized by RSS at Pt Ravishankar Shukla sports ground.

Referring to farmers’ plight in the country, Togadia stated,

Rs Rs political parties should come forward leaving behind their all political differences and jointly think about farmers’ welfare’’.

He added, Rs Rs farmers are committing suicide because they fail to return back the loan amount to bank. In last 17 years more than 3 lakh farmers have committed suicide,’’.

He further said when all the political parties can unite to pass the GST bill then why not they join hands on the farmers’ issues mainly on providing hiked bonus amount, increased support price for their crops and making farmers debt-free.
