If the Central government follows Chhattisgarh's policies, the next day the farmers’ agitation will be withdrawn, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Thursday.
He was speaking as chief guest at the concluding session of the Ram Van Gaman Path bike rally at Chandkhuri (Arang), the temple premises of Mata Kausalya.
All cabinet Ministers and public representatives were present at the event, which marked two years of the Congress government in the state.
Baghel said the people of Chhattisgarh are resilient, simple, easy-going and happy with what they have. They remain unperturbed in any situation.
It is a tradition which has been handed down from centuries. Lord Ram spent most of his time in present day Chhattisgarh during his exile, he said.
“Mata Kausalya, mother of Lord Ram, was composed and blessed Lord Ram to go to exile as he was carrying out his father's order. It was a turbulent period but she did not lose her composure. These same characteristics reflect in the state's residents,” he said.
Based on evidence, records and research, the places visited by Lord Ram have been identified. They are now being developed, said Baghel.
He said: “The state was known for Bhilai Steel Plant and after its formation for Naxalites. Now it is recognized for prosperous farmers, ‘gauseva’, ‘godhan’ ... which are not found in any other state.”
The Chief Minister recalled the achievements of the government during Covid-19, ensuring work to people and steps which helped to keep the economy moving even as it crashed across the country.
It in this context that he said that if the Centre followed Chhattisgarh's policies, it would end of the farmers' agitation the very next day.
The people of the state never fan hate. There is a cross section of people who are fanning hatred for vote and ‘note’ (money) and have selfish motives in the name of Lord Ram, said Baghel.
