Eight poachers were arrested from a village in Kanker District on Monday with a tiger skin in their possession.
Chief Conservator of Forest Janak Ram Nayak informed that the poachers were nabbed while they were trying to find a customer for the tiger skin. One of them belongs to Bijapur district of the Bastar region, official said.
After getting a tip off, the anti poaching unit and dog squad of Achanakmar Tiger Reserve swung into action and posing to be an employee was sent to him as a client.
Under leadership of team leader Sandip Singh a team was sent to the village Kisanpuri at TEHSIL Narharpur of the Kanker district and nabbed the poachers. A tiger skin, 4 motorbikes and 11 mobile handsets were also recovered from their possession, official informed.
